That’s because Summer in the City is thrown by City Harvest’s young professional group, Generation Harvest. This event always has a festive and youthful vibe, along with amazing tastings and cocktails from more than 30 New York City restaurants.

The Appetite For Good team joined 650 guests to celebrate a hot, sultry Summer Solstice evening on Wednesday, June 20th at The Metropolitan Pavilion. The sold-out event raised over $230,000, enough to help City Harvest feed nearly 900,000 hungry New Yorkers.

Big Eats on the High Seas

The sea air around Manhattan is maybe a little less fresh than the traditional breeze coming off the ocean, but it didn’t deter Smorgasboat from serving up a delicious cruise around the island, with great food and views for all. Fans of food boarded an East River Ferry for a night of snacks, drinks, and sights to benefit City Harvest. With multiple stations serving small, yet succulent bites from the middle row, and bars in the back and on the top floor, we sailed down two rivers, saw two national landmarks, and had an excellent time all around.
