The Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza event is just around the corner! Tuesday, April 13, 2010 to be exact (this date is significant – keep reading to figure out why). Early admission is at 6PM and is $75 and general admission is at 7PM and is $35/$45 at door.

If you’re not familiar with Menu of Menus Extravaganza, it’s an annual event hosted by Houston Press that brings together a fantastic assortment of restaurants into one evening to give you a taste of all the colorful flavors Houston has to offer. Think Ethiopian, the gems of the gulf and the sugary savory goodness of sweets and treats. If you’re a foodie or just curious about food, this is for you!

But wait – I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet. All the proceeds from the event will support Discovery Green, the downtown Houston park, and The Center for Speech and Hearing. In the hustle and bustle of downtown Houston, Discovery Green opened just only two years ago on April 13, 2008. With so many great natural, recreational, art, dining and eco-friendly features on the 12-acre park, it’s no wonder people have fallen in love with it. As for The Center of Speech and Hearing, it’s the only full-service resource in Houston that teaches children with hearing loss speaking, listening and literacy skills. Not only that, they provide support services to over 2,600 children every year.

Come one, come all! Enjoy yourself to an evening of great food and drink while supporting two great organizations that bring so much good to our community.
