This upcoming week, May 30 – June 5, RA Sushi will be hosting their sixth annual Nicky’s Week fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All proceeds from the special Nicky’s Week menu will be donated to supporting cancer and disease research for children.

May 12th kicked off Green City’s first outdoor farmer’s market of 2010. Haunted as I was by ghosts of fresh ingredients past, it wasn’t long before I was propelled into the crowds of Saturday shoppers in search of a seasonal meal.

Share Our Strength’s 22nd annual Taste of the Nation event comes to Los Angeles on June 6, where fine dining takes on a relaxed but festive mood, in the open air at Culver City’s Media Park, which will transform to stage this spectacular culinary event.

There was a certain electricity in the air as guests eagerly lined up in the Grand Hyatt, wearing their bright orange VIP bracelets, checking their blackberries and phones, patiently awaiting 7pm for the Share Our Strength staffers to let the hungry food lovers into the mega-event of the season.

Matsuri’s interior is a perfect mirror reflection of Chef Tadashi Ono and his cooking – understated and unpretentious. Not meant to be ostentatious or flashy, the décor takes you to Japan – more specifically, a welcoming modern izakaya – where you can enjoy the food in its natural habitat.

Finally done with April Showers and here comes May flowers! On Saturday, May 15th could not have been a more gorgeous day! The sun was out, birds were chirping, meat was grilling, and the crowd was bustling. The Taste of Tribeca was packed with New Yorkers from all over!

Brightly colored balloons floated in front of Martin Luther King High School on April 5, 2010 for Publicolor‘s Stir, Splatter + Roll fundraiser. Inside the building, paint cans in every shade lined the hallways and guided guests towards a memorable evening.

The 10th anniversary of the Grand Central Partnership Grand Gourmet tasting event was nothing short of spectacular. It was hard not getting distracted by the beautiful ceilings of the Vanderbilt Halls but the food soon caught my attention.

If you’re looking for a way to taste some of the best food NYC has to offer, look no further than Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation on May 17. The event aims to raise funds to support No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.

We live in a city of affluence but every year, over 1 million New Yorkers go hungry. One-third of that million are children! Tomorrow, May 12th, you can skip lunch to help fight hunger in our lovely city. The price of an average NY lunch – $10 – can help feed 15 hungry children and their families.
