EVENT PREVIEW: Silver Spoons 25 Years of Chefs and Celebrations

On Monday, June 14, 2010, Rockefeller Center hosted the Silver Spoons: 25 Years of Chefs and Celebrations , one of the grandest Tasting events in the city. A little history about the event, twenty five years ago, twelve devotees of James Beard came together to celebrate his life and their love for cooking all for the benefit of Citymeals-on-Wheels, the organization he co-founded with Gael Greene to nourish homebound elderly New Yorkers. Now coming back to the present day, the event has grown to fill the heart of midtown Manhattan with the delicious aroma of top chefs from around the nation and world. All this to celebrate James Beard’s legacy and Citymeals-on-Wheels, providing nearly 3 million meals to homebound neighbors throughout the five boroughs of New York.

Here is a sneak preview of the event! Appetite for Good had the wonderful opportunity to speak with many of the top chef’s about why they’re here today and what is so important about Citymeals-on-Wheels and the importance of giving back to the community!
Stay tuned for more! Full writeup including more appetizing food photos, interviews with Wolfgang Puck, Daniel Boulud, Michael Mina, Joe Ng, Nobu Matsuhisa, and Bill Telepan, and more coming up!!!
